From Oct. 4 through 12, guests enjoy short, guided nature walks that highlight Grandfather Mountain’s fall colors. The Fall Color Rambles take place daily, weather permitting, and are included in your admission ticket. The short excursions begin at 1 p.m. and typically last for 30 minutes. Rambles will start outside the entrance of the Wilson Center for Nature Discovery.
Free live music, food trucks and drinks, and interactive family-friendly experiences are coming to Symphony Park six times this fall at SouthPark After 5, happening every Thursday from September 4-October 9.

Join us for the All Pro Dad Experience on Friday, October 10, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Bank of America stadium. This one-day event is packed with fun and practical parenting tips.
Families will enjoy interactive stations, including football drills, touchdown dances, pride moments, the Sam’s Club Dad Zone, and the ever-popular tickle tackle station. Classic Jazz PianoA rising star of the jazz piano tradition and JazzArts Academy alum, Luther Allison is known for his soulful lyrical touch and dynamic modern swing. Having performed with luminaries including Samara Joy, Rodney Whitaker, and Etienne Charles, this Grammy-winning artist brings his acclaimed quartet to the JAZZ ROOM for an unforgettable “Homecoming” weekend.
Luther S. Allison is a Charlotte-born pianist, drummer, composer, and educator recognized for his blues-based, gospel-inspired approach rooted in bebop and soul. A graduate of the University of Tennessee and Michigan State University, he has toured internationally with artists including Samara Joy, Jazzmeia Horn, Rodney Whitaker, and The Baylor Project. His debut album I Owe It All To You on Posi-Tone Records earned 4.5 stars from Downbeat, which praised his artistry as “a pianist who seems to have no weak points.” Allison has performed at premier venues and festivals worldwide, composed for the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra at Wynton Marsalis’ commission, and is a proud Yamaha artist.
The JAZZ ROOM provides a casual and intimate setting with tables and a full bar, reminiscent of the classic jazz rooms of yesteryear.

The Park CDC's free seasonal Sunset Farm Open House events are designed to help build awareness about the organization's work in the food access and food independence space. These family-friendly events will include the Garden-to-Go container gardening workshops, plant-based culinary demonstrations, kids gardening activities, introductions to the organization's nutrition education program, and the distribution of health literacy materials. Plus, attendees can learn about what it's like to be a Garden Helper volunteer and how their efforts support the organization's overall mission and work to improve health outcomes for local community members.
Join us for our 3rd Annual Mountain Island Paddle + Cleanup! We will paddle 1.4 miles from the Riverbend Boat Ramp to Mountain Island, where we will pick up litter and clean up the island.
The event is free, but paddle board rentals are $20.
You are welcome to attend with your own equipment. Or, if you don't wish to paddle you can still participate and help us clean up the park near the boat ramp.
If you don't need a rental, please still register under General Admission so we know how many people to expect!
